Overview
CostPlus Inc., through its technical arm CPI - ADS, conducted a comprehensive technical training program for COTELCO PPALMA's solar business units and technical heads to support the cooperative’s first rollout of the Solar Home System (SHS) in Midsayap, Cotabato. The training aimed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills required to implement, operate, and maintain SHS infrastructure and its associated PAYGO (Pay-As-You-Go) software system.
Training Scope
The training covered all core aspects of SHS deployment, including:

Basic principles of solar energy

SHS hardware and component orientation

RFID-based activation and credit loading procedures

Use of PAYGO software for beneficiary registration, token generation, and receipt printing

Preventive maintenance and tamper protection

Backup and restoration of system data

Practical installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting techniques
Participants received individual hands-on training to ensure operational readiness and technical confidence. Emphasis was placed on secure implementation, scalability, and long-term sustainability of the SHS units in the field.
Outcome
The training was successfully completed with high engagement from participants. The cooperative's technical team demonstrated readiness in handling real-world scenarios, including system activation, issue resolution, and beneficiary support. This initiative marks a key milestone in COTELCO PPALMA’s transition to clean and decentralized energy solutions, setting a foundation for future SHS expansions across off-grid areas in Cotabato.
