Cost Plus, Inc., through its clean energy division Kidlat EV, proudly partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the National Electrification Administration (NEA) to energize Datu Saldong Domino Elementary School, an isolated “last mile” public school in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte. Previously without electricity or internet, the school now operates using a standalone solar photovoltaic and energy storage system engineered specifically for off-grid resilience. This installation delivers uninterrupted power and supports newly integrated high-speed internet, enabling access to digital learning for the first time. Beyond infrastructure, Cost Plus trained school personnel and community members for long-term system maintenance, ensuring both sustainability and self-sufficiency. This milestone project exemplifies how clean energy can bridge educational gaps and transform communities previously left in the dark.
The kids are all smiles as their school is now energized.
